Job summary

Liberty University is seeking an Investigator in the Office of Equal Rights and Title IX to enforce the university’s discrimination and sexual misconduct policies. The role includes conducting complex investigations, interviewing parties and witnesses, and producing detailed reports to determine whether policy violations occurred.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of investigatory experience; preferred qualifications include a JD or master’s in related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of investigatory or relevant professional experience.
• Ability to articulate the university mission and policies to diverse groups.
• Compliance with federal and state laws governing discrimination and Title IX.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex analysis and write high-quality investigative reports.
• Create investigative plans and interview parties and witnesses.
• Provide information about rights and policies to parties.
• Gather and secure evidence, maintain records, and ensure timely communications.
• Draft and issue reports summarizing findings and policy applicability.
• Ensure a prompt, fair, and neutral process in accordance with laws and policies.
• Train employees and students on policy-related topics.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders and supervise Title IX staff as needed.
