Job summary

The Hartford seeks a Student Intern to support general liability claims work and related tasks. You will review policies and contracts, assist with investigations, and collaborate with internal and external partners to help settlements and resolutions.

You will also complete a capstone research project, prepare a presentation, and present recommendations to senior leaders, while attending weekly development workshops and networking with Hartford professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or Business with anticipated graduation Dec 2027 or May 2028
• Demonstrated leadership potential through extracurricular activities
• Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities with high achievement
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, analytical and research skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with review of policies, contracts and/or financial files to support claim handling
• Partner with internal and external business partners in the claims process, including investigation of claims
• Participate in capstone research project, prepare a presentation, and present recommendations to senior leaders
• Attend weekly professional development and training workshops and network with Hartford professionals
• Gain understanding of the insurance industry and build professional contacts
