Job summary

ChenMed in New York is seeking a dedicated X-ray Technician to perform radiographic exams under physician orders, while adhering to ALARA principles and regulatory requirements.

The role involves positioning patients, assisting physicians with EKGs and phlebotomy, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safety and quality across radiology operations. A suitable radiologic technology credential and BLS within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology program
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
• A minimum of 1 year X-ray technologist experience in a healthcare environment (2 years preferred)
• Licensed and/or certified if required by state regulations
• EMR system experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Positions patient under X-ray machine and provides radiation protection and dose optimization
• Performs patient care activities including EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections under physician instruction
• Prepares and maintains reports, radiology logs, and film files; ensures accurate recordkeeping
• Maintains supplies and equipment; adheres to OSHA safety standards and proper documentation
• Performs other related duties as assigned
