The role requires one year of front desk experience in a veterinary setting, proficiency with practice management software, and a commitment to high-quality customer service. Part-time schedule with alternating shifts and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software (Cornerstone, Avimark, ImproMed, eVetPractice or ezyVet preferred).
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and basic procedures.
• Proficiency in scheduling, billing, and client communication.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and composure in high-volume settings.
• Comfort handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records, and confirm appointment details.
• Answer multi-line phone system and manage inquiries about scheduling, refills, vaccination records, and hospital information.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-up visits.
• Communicate medical information accurately and compassionately, including end-of-life discussions when needed.
• Maintain accurate EMR and data entry in PIMS; coordinate with team to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Support vets and staff to relay messages and flag urgent cases; keep reception area clean and welcoming.
