Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a versatile Unit Secretary who will be cross-trained to perform Unit Secretary duties and at least one additional clinical support role such as a Patient Care Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant. Under RN direction, you will deliver clerical support, monitor and stock supplies, and help maintain a safe patient environment.

The role emphasizes customer service, effective communication, and collaboration with nurses and staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant, patient care tech or nursing fundamentals course.
• No experience required.
• In lieu of required education may accept one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families and staff.
• Manage ordering, stocking, and inventory of supplies on the unit.
• Perform general reception and clerical duties at the nurse’s station (data entry, meeting minutes, bulletin boards).
• Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment per regulatory standards.
• Support unit operations with device preparation and downtime forms.
• Assist with basic nursing procedures as directed by a Registered Nurse.
