Job summary

The Salvation Army in Scranton, PA is seeking a part-time Social Service Caseworker II to interview clients, assess needs, and connect families with referrals and community resources.

Under the supervision of Corps Officers, you will maintain confidential records, coordinate programs such as budgeting workshops, and assist with outreach. This role emphasizes compassion, confidentiality, teamwork, and the ability to engage with diverse communities; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in social services.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking and teamwork.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Interview clients and provide referrals.
• Maintain confidential records and client case notes.
• Coordinate community programs and outreach.
• Greet clients and assist with required forms.
• Develop partnerships for internships or volunteers.
• Coordinate monthly statistics on services.
