Job summary

The Salvation Army Ansonia Corps is seeking a part-time Social Services Assistant to provide support to individuals in need and coordinate referrals to local programs. This role involves client intake, documentation, and collaboration with the Corps Officer to manage the food pantry and related services.

Responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality, coordinating vouchers, and developing new services while engaging with community partners.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; proficient in written English required.
• Excellent time management and customer service skills; ability to multitask and work independently.
• Detail-oriented with confidentiality; experience in social services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to individuals in need and assist with addressing root causes of their situations.
• Maintain confidentiality in all job-related matters and complete documentation accurately.
• Coordinate voucher program for shelter, utilities, clothing, and furniture.
• Develop additional services and programs and conduct workshops on budgeting and resources.
• Greet clients, collect forms, interview for services, and refer to Salvation Army programs and community resources.
