Job summary

Animal Humane Society in Minnesota is seeking a Shelter Client Services Representative to welcome clients and animals, coordinate appointments, and process paperwork with empathy and professionalism.

The role supports the Vet Services team, handles payments, and helps connect clients with resources while maintaining accurate records and exceptional service in a busy shelter environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of customer service experience required.
• Experience scheduling appointments and/or working at a reception desk preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong administrative and process-management skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a busy environment.
• Comfortable learning and working across multiple computer systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
• Ability to remain compassionate and professional during sensitive or emotionally difficult interactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and help create a professional, welcoming, and compassionate environment.
• Coordinate and process appointments for animals entering care.
• Prepare paperwork and ensure required consent forms are completed before services.
• Collect payments and schedule walk-in clients for stray animal or emergency appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and return client messages.
• Respond to client questions and escalate complex concerns when appropriate.
• Assist Veterinary Technicians in guiding clients through options after evaluation.
• Move animals from incoming lobby to exam rooms with the Vet Services team.
