Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time vehicle driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires punctuality, a clean driving record, and alignment with LifeWise beliefs.

Regular license is required, with CDL/P endorsement for larger vehicles as applicable. Responsibilities include transporting students, maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, and assisting students with boarding, all while modeling calm, caring conduct.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• Active participation in a church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• Valid driver's license; a copy may be kept on file by LifeWise program.
• CDL with Passenger endorsement required for vehicles >15 passengers; for 15-passenger vans no special license required.
• Must be age 21–80.
• Drivers over 75 must submit an annual Physician's Statement via support ticket.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain safety during transit.
• Keep the bus clean and mechanically safe.
• Perform regular vehicle inspections and refuel as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for students; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle; monitor behavior.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor; be aware of students needing help.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with Director.
