Responsibilities include hygiene, feeding, medication reminders, documenting services, and supporting client independence. The role requires compassion and teamwork in a residential care context.

Qualifications

• Direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation; medical monitoring and health care tasks.
• Foster positive relationships between caretakers and individuals served.
• Maintain client safety and a safe environment.
• Report changes in client’s condition or family situation to administrators and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Perform personal care tasks including hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
• Foster positive relationships between caretakers and individuals served.
• Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment.
• Remind and assist clients with self-administration of medications (with proper training).
• Encourage self-help activities.
• Document services provided and report changes to supervisors.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning.
• Plan meals and assist with shopping, preparation, and serving of food.
