Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Waldorf, Maryland seeks a compassionate Personal Care Aide to assist residents with daily living, monitor well-being, and report care concerns.

You will perform light housekeeping, help residents move between dining and activities, and participate in care planning while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct. The role requires excellent communication, teamwork, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Must contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear designated uniform including name badge.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community professionally.
• Must attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Check on residents and ensure attendance at meals and activities.
• Communicate resident status and appointments in writing and verbally.
• Provide support during move-in transitions for new residents.
