Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide daily living assistance and compassionate care at our Waldorf community in Maryland.

Responsibilities include supporting residents with activities of daily living, monitoring health status, and coordinating with nursing staff. The role requires effective communication, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear designated uniform during working hours including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community positively and professionally.
• Must attend and complete all in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns to appropriate individuals.
• Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties in resident areas as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Remain calm and competent during emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Check on residents and report illness or concerns to appropriate individuals.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status and appointments.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and emotional support.
• Other duties as assigned.
