Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Waldorf, Maryland is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to support residents with daily living activities, assist with mobility, meals, and social engagement, and report changes to the nursing team.

The role requires a current CNA license, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to handle emergencies calmly; weekend and holiday shifts are available, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State and be in good standing.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Team-oriented; follow supervisor instructions.
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Lift 50 lbs, push or carry 25 lbs.
• Safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Wear designated uniform including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing within 60 days of hire.
• Represent the community positively and professionally.
• Attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Assist residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Respond to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Perform housekeeping in resident areas as directed.
• Report incidents and document appropriately; notify nursing staff.
• Communicate resident status and appointments to staff.
• Assist new residents with move-in transitions and provide emotional support.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Document in Daily Log and clinical records; notify family as directed.
