Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Waldorf, MD is seeking a dedicated CNA/Direct Care Giver to provide quality care and assist with activities of daily living for residents. You will encourage independence, participate in community activities, and help plan meaningful experiences.

Responsibilities include responding to calls, reporting concerns, performing housekeeping, and documenting care. Candidates must hold a current CNA license, communicate well, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
• Contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor instructions
• Be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
• Lift 50 lbs, push or carry 25 lbs
• Safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics
• Uniform with name badge and a smile during working hours
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living
• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate staff
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies
• Plan and conduct activity programs for residents
• Follow confidentiality policies for resident information
• Assist residents to meals, dining, and activities
• Communicate resident status and appointments in writing
• Support new residents during move-in and provide emotional support
• Document changes and interventions in logs and records
• Notify family as directed
• Attend in-services and staff meetings
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
