Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Physical Therapist to perform initial and ongoing assessments and provide skilled therapeutic interventions across inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, and off-site settings as part of the care continuum.

The role emphasizes documenting progress in the electronic medical record, delivering patient- and family-centered instruction, maintaining productivity and safety standards, and supervising a physical therapy assistant when applicable.

Qualifications

• Must apply age-specific care standards for pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Strong computer skills (data entry, word processing, email, records management).
• Ability to analyze patient condition, progress, and plan effectiveness.
• Excellent communication with coworkers, physicians, patients and families.
• Ability to work with all levels of patients and healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients and develops goals-based treatment plans.
• Provides direct therapy daily per plan of care and standards.
• Maintains accurate progress notes in the EMR and coordinates care.
• Maintains productivity while upholding quality and safety standards.
• Follows safety, infection control, time-off and timecard policies.
• Supervises the physical therapist assistant’s interventions when applicable.
