Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati seeks a Physical Therapist to perform initial and ongoing assessments and provide skilled therapeutic interventions across inpatient, outpatient and pediatrics, contributing to the continuum of professional care.

The role requires evaluation, goal setting, daily therapy delivery, and diligent documentation of progress in the electronic medical record, with supervisory responsibilities for therapy assistants and adherence to department standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of current practice or meet all qualifications for traineeship or temporary license in the state of current practice (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
• 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)
• Ability to work with pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering pertinent information from various sources, and develops an appropriate treatment plan with specific goals.
• Provides direct therapy to patients daily following patient’s plan of care and current standards of practice for Physical Therapy.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress in the EMR; provides timely co-signature for supervised PTAs if applicable.
• Maintains set level of productivity without jeopardizing quality and delivers efficient and effective care meeting department standards.
• Follows departmental safety, infection control, time off requests and timecard recording policies.
• Supervises the PT assistant’s treatment interventions and professional growth.
