Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities at the PSC or in-office PST. You will interact professionally with clients, patients and PathGroup staff while collecting and processing forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, processing specimens, data entry, and maintaining accurate records. The role emphasizes accuracy, patient comfort, and adherence to safety and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred; required in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Dispose of biohazards and sharps according to laws and policies.
• Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information accurately in PathConnect or other systems.
• Maintain records and PSC/IOPST logs; assist with monthly statistics and data.
