Qualifikationen

• Phlebotomy certification and license if applicable.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Aufgaben

• Perform phlebotomy professionally, competently and with compassion for the patient.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff and patients, with adherence to infection control and PPE.
• Ensure requisitions include patient demographics, diagnosis, insurance and physician information in legible form or as ICD-9.
• Review Medicare ABN requirements and complete forms when needed for tests ordered.
• Ensure MSP forms are completed when necessary.
• Accurately collect all specimens to fulfill lab orders.
• Provide accurate communication to clients and staff regarding lab tests.
• Keep the draw station clean and stocked daily.
• Inform your lead or supervisor of performance issues, concerns and schedule.
• If located in a physician’s office, only collect specimens for the client’s laboratory.
• Perform courier duties if called upon.
• Deliver supplies when necessary.
• Obtain additional information if called upon.
• Contact Medicare patients to fulfill MSP compliance.
• Perform other tasks as requested by Operations Supervisor.
