Job summary

United WestLabs, Inc. is seeking a phlebotomist to perform blood collection with compassion, maintain a clean, safe environment, and accurately document patient and test information.

You will support compliance with Medicare requirements and demonstrate strong communication with clients and staff. The role emphasizes high standards of infection control, patient-focused service, and teamwork under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certificate and license if applicable.
• Ability to proficiently perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Organization and problem-solving skills.
• Communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy professionally and with compassion for the patient.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff and patients, including proper disposal of specimens.
• Ensure requisitions include patient demographics, diagnosis, insurance and physician info.
• Review Medicare tests for ABN requirements and complete forms when needed.
• Ensure MSP forms are completed when necessary.
• Accurately collect all specimens for lab orders.
• Provide accurate communication to clients regarding test ordering.
• Keep draw station clean and stocked daily.
• Inform supervisor of performance, concerns and schedule.
