Job summary

United WestLabs, Inc. is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor. You will collect specimens, keep a clean, safe environment, and ensure patient comfort.

Duties include completing requisitions with patient data, explaining tests, and addressing Medicare MSP/ABN requirements when necessary. A phlebotomy certification and ability to work with patients of all ages are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy professionally, competently and with compassion for the patient.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for all staff members and patients, including collecting and disposing of specimens and other contaminated material in accordance with policies.
• Ensure requisitions are completed with patient demographics, diagnosis, insurance and physician information.
• Review NCD/LMRP for Medicare tests to determine ABN requirements when needed.
• Ensure MSP is completed when necessary.
• Accurately collect all specimens necessary to fulfill lab orders.
• Provide accurate communication to clients and staff regarding test ordering.
• Keep draw station stocked with supplies daily.
• Inform Operations Supervisor of job performance issues and schedule.
• If located in a physician's office, collect specimens for UWL client labs.
