Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is hiring a Full-time Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside nurses and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, help with meals and hygiene, take vital signs, and respond to safety needs, alarms, and changes in condition. The role emphasizes teamwork in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for development and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through AHA or completion of IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance to designated patients.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities or changes to RN/charge nurse.
• Maintain patient surroundings in a clean and orderly state and observe patient safety measures.
• Assist with safety protocols, alarms, and high workload management in a fast-paced environment.
