Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Transporter to safely move patients, oxygen, meds and specimens within our network. The role emphasizes patient privacy, equipment maintenance and coordination with SPD for cleaning and disinfection.

You will assist with patient movement, manage oxygen inventories, respond to transport requests, and support related logistical tasks across the health system. CPR certification and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience transporting patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely using appropriate devices according to patient condition.
• Assist with patient movement from the transport vehicle.
• Respond to transport requests promptly and communicate via the clinical information system.
• Maintain inventory of oxygen tanks across departments.
• Demonstrate preventive maintenance of transportation devices.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy during transport.
• Assist with pickup, delivery and distribution of materials, supplies, reports, specimens, stock, mail and paychecks.
• Support valet services including handling money and assisting customers.
