Meritus Medical Center is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients, equipment and supplies safely across the hospital. You will support the Nursing Services team, assist with transfers, and ensure timely delivery of specimens in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, current BLS/CPR, and strong communication with patients and families. A physically demanding job, with potential shift differentials and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required.
• Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients between nursing units, OR, and holding rooms.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
• Assist with patient transfers under supervision of licensed nurses.
• Deliver lab specimens and supplies promptly and accurately.
• Follow protocols for transporting deceased patients to the mortuary.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment at all times.
