Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a patient transporter responsible for moving patients and supplies within the hospital. The role includes maintaining clean equipment and following safety protocols while ensuring safe handling of sharps and contrast materials where applicable.

Applicants should have basic reading/writing ability, with preferred high school diploma and CPR certification. On-the-job training is provided, with preference for some patient transport experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Act 33/73 clearances
• Preferred: Friends & Family CPR
• Minimum: On the job training will be provided.
• Preferred: Some experience working with patients and transport.
• Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle sharps, such as needles, suture kits, lancets, syringes, etc.
• Responsible to safely transport a single patient labeled oral contrast to appropriate nursing units.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and miscellaneous supplies throughout the hospital.
• Equipment is to be kept clean and maintained.
