Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to safely move patients, equipment and supplies across the medical center. You’ll assist with transfers, deliver specimens, and support the OR team to ensure high-quality care and patient comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma, current BLS/CPR certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (CPR) certification required.
• Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients between nursing units, OR, and holding rooms
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families
• Assist with patient transfers under the supervision of licensed nurses
• Deliver lab specimens and supplies promptly and accurately
• Follow protocols for transporting deceased patients to the mortuary
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment at all times
