Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System Inc / SGHS is seeking a Transporter to ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients, oxygen, medications, and specimens across our health system. You will coordinate equipment cleaning and disinfection with SPD, maintain inventory, and build positive relationships with patients and staff.

The role emphasizes patient privacy and courtesy, with responsibilities spanning transport, supply distribution, and valet-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Georgia driver's license with no violations within the past 3 years from date of hire/trans
• American Heart CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely utilizing the proper transportation device according to age and/or physical condition.
• Assist with patient movement from the transport vehicle.
• Respond to transport requests in a timely manner and communicate through the clinical information system.
• Maintain proper inventory and stock of oxygen tanks throughout designated departments.
• Demonstrate preventive maintenance requirements of transportation devices.
