Job summary

Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA seeks a Transporter to move patients, belongings and equipment through the hospital, following safety policies. The role is highly visible and requires courteous, proactive service to patients and staff.

Responsibilities include assisting clinical staff with transfers, transporting in wheelchairs or stretchers, using safety devices, and helping move supplies and specimens.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• AHA/BLS Health Care Provider certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Prior healthcare and/or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Transport patients safely in wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating with proper safety measures.
• Utilize positioning aides/devices to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Transport items with the patient or separately, such as oxygen or IV stands.
• Maintain therapeutic communication with patients.
• Assist in departmental cleaning and maintenance of supplies.
• Move medical equipment within the facility.
• Transport specimens, lab and pharmacy items, and equipment.
