Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
• Ability to safely handle patients and operate transport equipment.
• Ability to plan efficient routes within hospital corridors and wards.

Responsibilities

• Lifts and transports patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds using proper body mechanics.
• Transports patients and items to destinations; handles equipment, specimens, carts, and supplies.
• Notifies clinical staff of changes in patient conditions or equipment issues.
• Verifies patient identity using printed tickets and wristbands.
• Maintains documentation of transport assignments and status in electronic systems.
• Cleans, disinfects, and inspects transport equipment; reports needed repairs.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• May collect patient equipment and deliver medications (excluding controlled substances).
