Job summary

Qualifications

• Good communication skills are required to interact with patients, families and hospital staff.
• CPR certification is required or to be obtained within 90 days after orientation.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic math skills for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive and confirm Ticket to Ride document prior to transport.
• Attend department, hospital and Advocate trainings and meetings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient cognitive and sensory needs and apply when giving instructions.
• Maintain safety by following infection control and universal precautions policies.
• Assist patients with navigation, directions and comfort measures.
• Operate and monitor transport equipment safely and efficiently, using body mechanics and PPE.
• Document transportation activities and communicate with dispatch and nursing staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional demeanor.
