Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a dedicated Transport Associate to support patient flow across the hospital campus. You will move patients, charts, specimens, equipment, and supplies between units, while ensuring safety and proper handling at all times.

Requires ability to read and follow instructions, strong communication, and physical stamina for frequent lifting and walking. This role features a base hourly wage in the posted pay range and opportunities to contribute to patient care.

Qualifications

• Read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions; basic arithmetic.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capable of routine heavy lifting, pushing, bending, carrying, and walking.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients between hospital units and other areas.
• Transport blood and specimens on Stat and routine bases.
• Deliver patient equipment, supplies, AV equipment; exchange gas tanks.
• Receive direction from supervisor or designee.
• Ensure stretchers and wheelchairs are stored after use.
• Remove linen and secure oxygen bottles after use.
• Disinfect stretcher pads and wheelchairs for patients with precautions.
• Follow established patient identification protocols.
