Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Ability to move patients and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Round the hospital to assess transport needs and move equipment to optimize operations.
• Greet patients, inform them of the move process, and ensure safety checks.
• Move furniture to accommodate stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Assist clinical staff in transferring patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Transport patients and medical charts between departments with empathy and care.
• Communicate arrivals, conduct thorough handoffs, and provide comfort as needed.
• Support discharge transports and assist patients into their vehicle.
• Prioritize transport requests to reduce wait times and coordinate with departments.
• Retrieve code carts during codes and replenish department carts as needed.
• Deliver items hospital-wide and respond to equipment issues promptly.
