Job summary

Patient First in Sterling, VA is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative to support front-office operations. You will assist patients at the kiosk, register and escort patients, and handle billing inquiries with a focus on compassionate service.

You will verify demographics, medical and insurance information, collect payments, and balance cash at shift end. Strong data entry and communication skills are essential in a busy, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Excellent verbal, written, and typed communication skills.
• Willing to work at any center due to staffing issues or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients to the treatment area for registration and evaluation.
• Handle billing inquiries and explain Patient First policies as needed.
• Register patients accurately and provide excellent customer service.
• Verify patient demographics, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
• Answer billing questions and provide itemized statements when requested.
• Collect money and issue receipts for visits and services.
• Discharge patients and process charges in the EMR system.
• Maintain cash controls and end-of-shift balancing.
• Answer calls and route messages promptly.
• Assist with other duties as directed.
