Job summary

Onslow Memorial Hospital Inc. is seeking a Food Service Worker to support all aspects of hospital food service across the facility.

The role involves setting up and serving meals, assisting with tray assembly, and ensuring timely delivery to patient rooms and cafeterias. You will help sanitize equipment, participate in catering for special events, and support new employee training in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School education, graduate preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year experience in a commercial food preparation and service function, preferably a health care institution.

Responsibilities

• Assists in setup and serving of food from counters and steam tables.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work stations.
• Participates in patient and cafeteria meal service including preparation, assembly, service, delivery and pickup.
• Communicates with patients, staff and guests to ensure accuracy and timely meal trays and floor stock.
• Supports catering and special function meal service and training of new employees.
• Performs kitchen, tray line, patient room service, cafeteria and dish room duties as required.
• Assists in data collection for performance improvement and quality control.
