Job summary

Onslow House in Jacksonville, NC is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high‑quality meals to residents in need. You will assist with meal preparation and service, ensure adherence to dietary plans, support sanitation and safety, and collaborate with the dietary team to create a pleasant dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food safety: follow proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Inventory support: help receive/store food and notify shortages or needs.
• Team collaboration: work with the dietary team to run the kitchen smoothly.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and respect individual preferences.
