Job summary

Cedar Point Health in Montrose, CO is seeking a friendly and organized patient services representative to manage new patient contacts, recalls, no-shows, rescheduled appointments, follow-ups, and “lost” patients, always aiming for a pleasant scheduling experience.

You will ensure smooth patient flow, coordinate with clinical staff, explain financial requirements, handle reminder calls, and maintain accurate schedules in the EHR, while upholding confidentiality and professional service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in a customer service role.
• Genuinely enjoys people.
• Ability to handle extensive phone work.
• Ability to learn medical practice protocols and the EHR scheduling system.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient records.

Responsibilities

• Makes and takes call with courtesy and compassion, and informs patients of visit requirements.
• Facilitates patient flow and communicates changes with patients and clinical staff.
• Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties.
• Schedules appointments using EHR for patients, makes reminder calls one business day before appointments and maintains the schedule (e.g. cancellations or additions) to ensure accuracy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
