Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. You will support nurses with basic patient care, monitor vitals, assist with activities of daily living, and document care in the Epic EHR.

Ideal candidates have recent acute care or long-term care experience, and a valid nursing aide certification or equivalent training. On-site roles with competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Nursing aide training or CNA/STNA certification, or equivalent clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, hygiene and mobility support.
• Reports changes and concerns to nurse; acts as liaison between patient and nurse.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the EHR system.
• Participates in hand-off/report of patient and department needs on admission and discharge.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques and promotes independence.
