Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a diligent Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. The role involves basic patient care under RN guidance, room sanitation, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with feeding and grooming.

You will support nurses, document care accurately, and help with patient transfers while fostering independent patient activity. Training in EPIC EHR is preferred and a strong customer-service approach is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility support.

• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents care accurately and promptly.
• Assists with hand-off/report of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilizes patients using transfers to foster independence and safety.
• Encourages patient independence in activities of daily living.
