Job summary

Intermountain Health Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch, Utah seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team with basic care tasks and documentation. The role may include Health Unit Coordinator duties and requires collaboration with RNs and allied staff.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient service, safety, and accurate data reporting, with PRN shifts that include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. A CNA and BLS are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Current Utah CNA certification required or obtained within 120 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including toileting, bathing, linen changes, hydration, and ambulation with compassionate service.
• Report patient data and changes to the RN promptly; seek assistance as needed.
• Assist with telemetry and monitor patient status per unit requirements.
• Transport medications to the RN and support medication preparation as needed.
• Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team for optimal patient care.
• Potentially perform Health Unit Coordinator duties (phones, orders, records, supplies).
• Follow plan of care, maintain unit safety, and document care in records.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure a safe environment per policy.
