Job summary

Mercy Health in Kentucky is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses and care teams. You will sanitize rooms, monitor vital signs, assist with feeding and grooming, and help with mobility.

Qualifications

• Must have completed one of the following: nursing aide training program OR CNA/Nurse Aide, STNA state tested nurse aide (OH LTC) OR equivalent clinical nursing course.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain before direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care, including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility support.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off reporting of patient and departmental needs.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe techniques.
• Encourages patient independence in activities of daily living.
