Job summary

Lutheran Downtown Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of an RN/LPN. You will assist with daily living activities, collect data, support mobility, and help maintain a safe, clean care environment while communicating effectively with the healthcare team.

The role requires 0-2 years in acute care or nursing program enrollment, with BCLS within 90 days of hire and CNA/CPCT certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred or CPCT - Certified Patient Care Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Collect and record vital signs and other patient data, reporting to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, mobility, and daily activities.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
