Job summary

Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver high-quality, patient-centered support under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, help with meals and mobility, and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.

This role requires 0–2 years in acute care or current enrollment in a nursing program. BCLS within 90 days of hire; CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA certification preferred or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care while maintaining a safe environment.
• Collect and record vital signs, intake/output, and report findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and mobility.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform glucose monitoring as directed.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and maintain PPE usage.
• Participate in safety and performance improvement initiatives.
