Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patients at the Jefferson Avenue Medical Office Building. The role involves basic care, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility under RN guidance, while delivering compassionate, professional service to patients and families.

EPIC EHR training is preferred. A successful candidate will have completed a nursing aide program or equivalent and hold a current BLS certification when hired.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• Completion of one of the listed nursing aide programs or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility.
• Report changes or concerns to the nurse and serve as liaison between patient and staff.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document accurately and timely patient care information.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent patient/department needs.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Assist mobilizing patients and encourage independence when possible.
