Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Med/Surg Ortho - C5 team at Anderson Hospital. The role supports nurses with daily patient care, vital signs, and routine tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have completed a nursing aide training program or possess CNA/STNA credentials (BLS preferred). Prior experience in acute or long-term care is beneficial, with EPIC EHR familiarity advantageous.

Qualifications

• Candidate has completed a nursing aide training program or equivalent.
• Preferred BLS certification; OH LTC pathway may require STNA or CNA credentials.
• Recent acute care or long-term care experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care, including mobility, feeding and grooming.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nurse.
• Provide high-quality patient and family communication.
• Document care accurately in the EHR.
• Support hand-offs and continuity of care.
