Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Technician to assist patients under RN guidance. The role includes sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and helping with basic needs such as feeding and grooming.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting. BLS is preferred and certification may be required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates problem-solving and strong communication
• Professional interaction with patients, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt quickly to evolving clinical needs
• BLS certification encouraged or required upon hire
• Prior nursing aide or patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with feeding, grooming and daily activities.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to nurses.
• Document patient care accurately in EHR when applicable.
• Support mobility and transfers using safe techniques.
• Maintain clean, safe patient rooms and environment.
