Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Francis Downtown to support basic patient care under licensed supervision. You will assist with hygiene, meals, and mobility, monitor vital signs, and help ensure patient comfort and safety while communicating changes to the care team.

Qualifications

• Must have completed nursing aide training program or equivalent (STNA/CNA or related clinical training).
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred and must be obtained before direct patient care.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician office, home health/hospice, or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including hygiene, feeding and mobility assistance.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the nurse or designated healthcare professional.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Document care accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Assist with transfers using therapeutic techniques to promote safety.
• Encourage patient independence and customize care to individual interests.
