Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees Township, NJ, seeks a Patient Care Technician under the supervision of RNs/LPNs to assist with activities of daily living and care planning. You will communicate with the care team, patients, and families, and uphold high ethical standards in daily patient care.

The role includes vital signs, basic nursing duties, patient education, and participation in quality initiatives. A High School Diploma or GED and completion of a PCT/CNA program or RN fundamentals nursing

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of basic patient care skills and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility and transport).
• Perform vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; report changes to RN/LPN.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Support patient satisfaction initiatives and department goals.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
