Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Strong communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, mobility, transportation).
• Performs standard precautions and safe patient practices.
• Performs RN/LPN directed duties: vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care as applicable.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Notifies RN/LPN of changes in patient status and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient/family education on care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality goals.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
