Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, supporting the care team and patients in a hospital setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA program or equivalent experience, and BLS certification. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, 403(b), paid time off, tuition assistance, and employee assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Performs vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and catheter care as directed.
• Reinforces education for patients and families and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Assists in the orientation of new hires.
