Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff with activities of daily living and care planning under supervision of RN/LPN.

You will perform basic patient care tasks, vital signs, specimen collection where trained, and communicate changes to the care team. This role emphasizes patient education, teamwork, and participation in quality improvement initiatives; BLS and relevant training required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility) and plan of care.
• Perform vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, catheter care as trained, possibly phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Support patient satisfaction initiatives and participate in improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
