Job summary

Indiana University Health, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide exceptional bedside care and support to patients.

The PCA will assist with daily activities, meals, mobility, hygiene, and comfort, while collaborating with the nursing team to ensure safety and quality care. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, reporting changes to RNs, and maintaining infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Requires knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served.
• Requires knowledge of infection control principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering.
• Encourage walking and assist with baths.
• Provide clean linens and gowns to patients.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain safety measures such as gait belts and bed/chair alarms and stay within arm's reach of patients.
